German Universal Bank

Collateral management post merger integration (PMI)

The client approached the project team for support during a large post-merger integration project. The engagement focused on collateral management as one of the first projects to be launched during the merger period. The comprehensive project scope covered the development of the Target Operating Model, the integration of both teams, enhancement of the exsisting / designated collateral management system through to overall migration.

What did we do?

The joint client ::projective team managed the Collateral Management post-merger integration for a German universal bank. The team analysed the overall setup (IT, functional, organisational as well as processes) between both entities, and proposed the overall strategy and setup for the merged entity. This included the review of and recommended changes to the data structure to enable a smooth transition. The team in turn both planned and managed the overall migration to one platform, and performed a successful go-live.

What we delivered

Target Operating Model incorporating requirements from both entities

Migration plan aligned with the overall merger

Business benefits

Smooth transition between both entities

Clear roles and responsibilities defined and put into place across the target organisational structure

Assurance that all requirements (business, risk, finance, etc.) were carefully evaluated from three perspectives: that of each of the merger entities, as well as the joint, post PMI organisation
